Three free lessons for ages 8 to 11
The ocean covers 71% of our planet and makes about half the oxygen we breathe. Students test the 71% with a globe toss, dive down to the Philippine Trench, and sort the gifts the ocean gives us every day.

Lesson 1: One big ocean
How much of Earth is ocean, where all the water is, and why the sea is salty, with a globe toss and a water bottle demonstration.

- 8 to 11 (grades 3 to 6)

- You need
- An inflatable globe or a ball with a world map, a 1 litre bottle of water and a small cup for the demonstration, one record sheet per student

Lesson 2: Down into the deep
The ocean's layers from the sunlight zone to the trenches, a pressure experiment, deep-sea animals, and the Philippines' own deep trench.

- You need
- A plastic bottle, a pin or nail to make holes, tape, a tray, one build-the-ocean sheet per student, scissors and glue

Lesson 3: Why the ocean matters
The oxygen, food, weather and livelihoods the ocean provides, what threatens it, and a promise to help.

Bring your students to the reef
We host school groups at our base in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental, for diving or snorkelling, beach clean-ups and tree planting alongside our conservation team. Every visit follows our child protection policy.
